The fifty-person year

What one year of fifty people costs

Bars are drawn to the same scale. The Ubirimi band is the shortest line on the chart, and the only one that does not multiply by fifty.

Why the gap exists

Not a discount. A different shape of price.

A seat is a multiplier. A band is a price. Four things follow from that, and they are the whole argument — we are not discounting anything, we are counting differently.

  1. The band does not multiply. Fifty people cost the same as forty-nine. You are not charged per seat, so headcount growth does not become a second budget line.
  2. One SKU, not three. Atlassian sells the tracker, the wiki and the help desk as three products with three price lists. There is no add-on in our band that unlocks the wiki.
  3. No metered surprises. From December 2026 Atlassian charges for Rovo credits and automation steps above the allowance; monday.com, Notion and ClickUp sell AI credits on top of the seat. Our price is the price.
  4. Updates are included. Every product in the suite, at every version, for the price of the band. On-premise runs the same suite on your own hardware, with no second "enterprise vault" SKU.

Honesty first

What this page does not claim

The free and self-hosted options are real

YouTrack is free for up to ten users. OpenProject Community, Taiga and Redmine cost nothing if you host them. Trello, ClickUp, Notion and monday.com have free tiers. If you are five people, use one of those — we would rather say so than lose you to a better fit.

Real quotes can be lower

Annual billing, volume tiers, non-profit and academic discounts, and negotiated contracts all exist. The figures here are the published list prices, which is the least flattering number for us to compare against on some lines and the most flattering on others. Every source is linked below.

List price is not total cost

Nobody's list price includes implementation, migration, training, taxes, or the cost of the person who administers it. A ten-year Atlassian bill is not only a ten-year Atlassian bill. We have not pretended to model any of that here.

Some competitors are better at one thing

Linear's keyboard and speed are admired. Zendesk has the deeper service desk. GitLab owns the pipeline. Basecamp is a very good company-chat tool. If you need exactly one of those and nothing else, buy it — and keep us in mind for the rest.

Try the suite against your own fifty people.

Bring the team, bring the messy workflow, bring the wiki nobody has opened since March. The trial is the whole suite, and the price is the band.

FAQ

Questions people actually ask

Which vendors are compared here?
Nineteen published price lists: the Atlassian stack (Jira, Confluence and Jira Service Management), Asana, monday.com, Notion, ClickUp, Trello, Smartsheet, Wrike, Basecamp, Linear, Plane, YouTrack, OpenProject, Zendesk, Freshdesk, Zoho Desk and GitLab.
Why fifty people?
It is the band the worked example on our pricing page uses, and it is the size where per-seat pricing starts to hurt. A team of fifty needs the tracker, the wiki, the boards and the help desk at the same time.
Are these the prices we would be quoted?
They are the published list prices on each vendor's own pricing page, checked on 20 October 2026. A real quote can be lower: annual billing, volume tiers, non-profit and academic discounts, and negotiated contracts all exist. We publish the list price, the source line for every row, and the date, rather than a savings claim we cannot substantiate.
What about free and self-hosted tools?
YouTrack is free for up to 10 users, OpenProject Community, Taiga and Redmine can be self-hosted for nothing, and Trello, ClickUp and Notion have free tiers. If you are five people with no budget, that is a legitimate answer. For fifty people who want ten tools and one contract, the list prices on this page are the honest comparison.
Does Ubirimi get expensive as the team grows?
The price is a band, not a seat. Fifty people cost 75 € a month, and the fifty-first person moves you to the 51–100 band at 175 € a month — still below what Jira Standard alone lists for fifty people. You are never charged per person.
